Shortly before 5:00 AM today, October 14, 2011, the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on State Highway 55 at milepost 4.9, about 2 miles north of Marsing. Andrew Olson, age 19 of Melba was northbound on State Highway 55 when, for unknown reasons, he went into the emergency lane. Alfred Hansen, age 76 of Ellensburg, WA was parked in the emergency lane at milepost 4.9 in a semi with two flatbed traliers. Olson ran into the rear trailer with his pickup. Olson was transported by Canyon County Paramedics to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. He was not wearing his seatbelt and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor. The crash is being investigated by Trooper B. Bake.

Both lanes of travel are open following the crash on State Highway 55. More information will be relayed as it becomes available.

At this time, the Idaho State Police is responding to an injury crash on State Highway 55 near Lowell Rd., about 2 miles north of Marsing. The right lane of the northbound side of Highway 55 is blocked, and one person has been taken to Saint Alphonsus with injuries. More information will be relayed as it becomes available.
