Idaho State Police is investigating a vehicle collision that occurred Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 12:49 p.m., southbound US93 at milepost 63, in Jerome County.

A 52-year-old male, of Hailey, was driving a 1995 GMC SUV southbound on US93. A 69-year-old female, of Shoshone, was driving a 2006 Toyota sedan northbound on US93, lost control on the snow covered roadway, and entered the southbound lanes where it was struck by the GMC SUV.

The 69-year-old female was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed her to injuries on scene. The 52-year-old male was wearing a seatbelt and was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

The southbound lanes of travel were blocked for approximately 2 hours.

This crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
