On March 22, 2017, at approximately 3:24 p.m. the Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle crash on Interstate 84 at milepost 184.3, just 8 miles east of Twin Falls, Idaho. Benjamin Ping, 43, of Clarksburg, Maryland, was traveling westbound in a 2014 Kennworth Semi with trailer when he failed to maintain his lane and struck another commercial vehicle parked on the shoulder. Oswald Perez, 41, of Galt California, had parked his 2008 Kennworth Semi with trailer on the shoulder due to sustaining engine trouble. Benjamin Ping was hauling jelly and juice which scattered across the roadway during the crash. Westbound Interstate 84 was blocked off and rerouted at milepost 188 until 8:03 p.m. while the crash was being cleared. Both Ping and Perez were wearing seatbelts. No injuries were sustained. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
