On May 27, 2010 at 11:49 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a serious injury crash at the intersection of Yellowstone and Woodruff in Idaho Falls.

Tyler S. Jones, age 30 of Idaho Falls, was traveling westbound on US26 (Yellowstone) in a 1993 Ford Explorer. Jose G. Lazalde Miranda, age 46 of Idaho Falls, was traveling southbound on St. Leon/Woodruff in a 1998 Toyota Siena Van. Jones failed to stop at the red light entering into the intersection where his Explorer stuck the Toyota resulting in a T-bone crash.

Lazalde Miranda and his two male passengers, ages 9 and 12, were transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by ground ambulance. The 9 year old male passenger sustained serious injuries in the crash. Jones received only minor injuries and was not transported. Alcohol and drugs are not a factor in this crash.

This crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police. Corporal Barnes was assisted at the scene by Corporal Bivins and Bonneville County Deputies.
