Hot August Nights and DUI emphasis patrols successfully conclude in Lewiston
LEWISTON, Idaho - Last weekend, local law enforcement remained busy keeping roadways and Idaho families safe. DUI emphasis patrols begin Thursday night and ran through the weekend as ISP partnered with Lewiston Police Department and the Nez Perce Sheriff's Office. Throughout the emphasis, officers made arrests on probable cause for the following charges:
10 DUI's
10 possession of drug paraphernalia
9 possession of marijuana
5 possession of felony drugs
2 outstanding warrants
1 unlawful possession of a prescription drug
1 minor in possession
"We appreciate the efforts of our local law enforcement partners for helping create a safer environment for those attending Hot August Nights," said Patrol Sergeant Chris Middleton. "We wanted to keep families safe by getting impaired drivers off the road. We believe our efforts encouraged drivers to make the right choice and not drive drunk. Every year this is a great event and we look forward to participating again next year."
