On Monday, August 5, 2019 at approximately 9:57 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, fatality crash westbound I84 at milepost 29, in Caldwell.

Eric Hauser, 21, of Caldwell, was westbound on I84 on a 2018 Kawasaki motorcycle. Henry Boswell, 57, of Meridian, was westbound in a 2006 International semi pulling a single trailer. The Kawasaki struck the rear of the trailer. The Kawasaki came to rest in the lane of travel, and the International came to rest on the right shoulder. Boswell was wearing a seatbelt, and Hauser was wearing a helmet. Hauser succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

All lanes of travel were blocked for approximately 30 minutes. They were partially blocked for an additional two hours. Next of kin has been notified.

The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
