The Idaho State Police will be conducting a High Visibility Emphasis (HVE) Patrol in Nez Perce County on Friday, June 28th, particularly on US Hwy 95 from the Culdesac area to Lewiston. Officers involved in this emphasis will be focusing primarily on impaired driving violations, but will also be enforcing all hazardous moving violations and safety restraint violations. Hazardous moving violations, including impaired driving, speeding, etc., are some of the leading causes of motor vehicle crashes, and also contribute to the severity of those crashes. Seat belts and child safety restraints save lives, and failing to use them contributes to the severity of injuries in a crash. During the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer, police officers around the state will be focusing on these particular violations in an effort to reduce both the frequency and severity of motor vehicle crashes in Idaho.
