On Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 10:25 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash westbound on US26 at the Ririe Business Loop, near Ririe.

Tyler M. Smith, 31, of Rexburg, was driving westbound on US26 in a 2018 Toyota Tacoma. Parker S. Richards, 27, of Idaho Falls, was driving southbound on the Ririe Business Loop in a 1998 Chevrolet C10. Richards failed to yield at the stop sign, entered the intersection, and was struck by the Toyota Tacoma.

Richards' passenger, Jonathan Klotzer, 27, of Bellingham, WA, was ejected from the vehicle. Both he and Richards were transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt. Smith and his juvenile passenger were both wearing seatbelts.

US26 was blocked in both directions for approximately one and a half hours.

Idaho State Police was assisted at the scene by the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office.

This crash is under investigation.

Idaho State Police is investigating a crash EB on US26 at mile marker 347.5, near Ririe.

At this time, all lanes eastbound and westbound are blocked. Motorists should expect delays.
