With the bald eagles returning to Lake Coeur d'Alene to feed on the salmon, so the traffic returns to cause hazards for the motoring public. Highway 97 sees a significant impact this time of year with motorists and pedestrians causing hazards. We would like to remind everyone that Highway 97 is a narrow two-lane roadway with no parking along the shoulders. It is prohibited to park on Highway 97 from milepost 96 to 90. There are safer locations with parking along Coeur d'alene Lake Dr, Higgins Point and designated parking areas on Highway 97. If those are full, please do not stop along the highway, motorists are susceptible to citations for blocking the highway and causing hazards. Thank you in advance.
