On Wednesday July 11, 2018, at approximately 3:59 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a motorcycle crash eastbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 54, the Broadway exit in Boise.

Gary Rupert, 52, of Meridian, ID, was driving a 2002 Honda motorcycle eastbound on Interstate 84 at the Broadway off ramp. Rupert failed to negotiate a curve, his motorcycle turned on its side, and came to rest in the roadway at the top of the off ramp. Rupert was transported by ground ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID.

Rupert was not wearing a helmet. The off ramp was partially blocked for approximately two and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
