On July 10, 2018 at approximately 5:15 PM, an injury crash occurred on State Highway 62 at milepost 14, near Nez Perce, Idaho. A silver 2002 Ford Ranger pickup driven by Jeremy Montgomery, 39, of Nez Perce, Idaho was traveling westbound attempting to make a left hand turn onto Powerline Road. Stanley Dau, 53, of Reubens, Idaho was also traveling westbound, behind Mr. Montgomery, on a black and yellow 2003 Yamaha motorcycle. Mr. Dau attempted to pass Mr. Montgomery on the left and laid his motorcycle down on its side. Mr. Dau came off his motorcycle and made contact with Mr. Montgomery's vehicle, coming to rest in the eastbound lane of travel. His motorcycle came to rest on the eastbound shoulder. Mr. Dau was airlifted to St Joseph's hospital in Lewiston, Idaho. Mr. Montgomery was uninjured. Mr. Dau was wearing his helmet and Mr. Montgomery was wearing his seatbelt. Investigation continues.
