*UPDATE*

On Sunday, April 15, 2018, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a three-vehicle, injury crash on US Highway 26 near milepost 177, west of Richfield.

Jarred S. Hubsmith, 34, of Shoshone, was driving westbound on US26 in a 2014 Buick Enclave. Hubsmith drove off the right shoulder, came back onto the roadway and collided with a 2018 Freightliner Semi that was driving eastbound. The semi was driven by Troy Bergen, 51, of Gooding. Hubsmith's vehicle then spun and collided with a 2001 GMC Sierra, driven by Kurt Meyer, 29, of Twin Falls.

Hubsmith and his passenger, Kendall F. Turner, 32, of Shoshone, were not wearing seatbelts. Hubsmith was transported by air ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. Turner was transported by ground ambulance to Saint Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center. Burgen and Meyer were wearing seatbelts and were not transported.

The highway was blocked for three hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

Idaho State Police was assisted by Shoshone Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Idaho Department of Transportation, Lincoln County Search and Rescue, Richfield Fire Department, and Lincoln County Ambulance.
