On Friday, March 16, 2018, at approximately 9:25 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle injury crash northbound on State Highway 55 at milepost 97.5, north of Banks. Deidra Heiner, 26, of Jerome, Idaho, was traveling northbound in a 2003 Mazda Protege, when her vehicle left the roadway. Heiner struck a snowbank and rolled landing off the right shoulder.

Heiner was transported to Saint Alphonsus Boise by ground ambulance. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
