On Thursday, March 15, 2018, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash northbound US95 at milepost 150, near Tamarack.

William McMonigle, 73, of Mountain Home, was driving a 2007 Peterbuilt semi southbound on US95.

Carl Nichols,76,of Council, was driving a 2009 Ford F150 pickup northbound on US95.

McMonigle crossed over the center line at milepost 150 and sideswiped Nichols. Nichols left the roadway and went down the right side embankment. Nichols and his passenger, Nola Nichols, 73 of Council, were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. McMonigle was wearing his seatbelt. Carl Nichols was transported by ground ambulance to St. Lukes Medical Center in McCall. Nora Nichols was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

The lanes were blocked for approximately four hours.
