On December 17, 2017, at approximately 6:03 p.m. the Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash at the intersection of US 30 and State Highway 50, near Kimberly, ID.

Ray Hamby, 87, of Kimberly and his passenger Dorothy Hamby, 85, of Kimberly were driving southbound on State Highway 50 in a silver 2001 Ford Crown Victoria. Ray failed to yield for oncoming traffic while attempting to turn onto US 30 eastbound and struck a white 2000 Toyota Tacoma driving northbound on State Highway 50 driven by Thomas Wiser, 70, of Eden. The Ford came to rest in the intersection of US 30 and State Highway 50 while the Toyota came to rest on the south side of the intersection.

Wiser was taken by ground ambulance to Saint Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls. Neither occupant of the Ford were wearing seatbelts. Wiser was wearing a seatbelt.

Westbound US30 and northbound State Highway 50 were blocked for approximately one hour.
