On December 5, 2017, at approximately 7:51 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a four-vehicle crash eastbound Interstate 84 at milepost 41, west of Ten Mile.

Wayne Reece, 60, of Nampa, was traveling eastbound in a commercial vehicle pulling two tank trailers loaded with milk. Reece did not slow with traffic and struck a commercial vehicle pulling three trailers, driven by Rodney Day, 55, of Meridian. Day's vehicle then struck a 2003 Kia Sorrento, driven by Jeffrey Kirkman, 49, of Nampa. The contents from Reece's damaged trailer then spilled onto a 2013 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Thomas Kirkland, 34, of Boise.

The right lane of travel was blocked for approximately five and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene. All drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
