On Thursday September 14, 2017, at 6:14 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a three-vehicle crash westbound Interstate 84 at milepost 38, near Garrity.

Nolan Arters, age 23, of Nampa, ID, was driving westbound on Interstate 84 in a 2003 Honda Accord, when he rear-ended a 2000 Honda Civic driven by Eliasib Herrera Gonzalez, age 26, of Caldwell, ID. Herrera Gonzalez's vehicle spun around and struck a 2011 Kia Optima driven by Benjamin Chilton, age 26, of New Plymouth, ID.

Chilton's passenger, Caithlin Greco, age 24, of Nampa, ID, and all other occupants were wearing a seatbelt. The right two lanes of westbound Interstate 84 were blocked for approximately one hour while crews worked to clear the scene. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
