On September 14, 2017 at 4:38 pm the Idaho State Police responded to a three vehicle crash on SH53 near Radian Road, Rathdrum. Naomi Strobel, 43 year old female from Rathdrum, was westbound on SH53 driving a green 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee, when she was rear ended by Phillip R. Decker, 34 year old male of Pocatello, Idaho, driving a red and white 1991 Chevrolet Suburban. Strobel lost control of her vehicle and went into the eastbound lane of travel. Talon C. Dewey, 18 year old male of Sagle, ID was eastbound on SH53 in a white 1997 Buick Lesabre when Strobel?s vehicle entered his lane of travel and the vehicles struck. Strobel was deceased at the scene of the crash. Next of kin has been notified. The road was blocked for 4 hours. All drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
