On Friday, August 25, 2017, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle crash westbound I84 at milepost 5.5, east of Fruitland.

Giovanni Storelli, 20, of Weiser, was westbound on I84 in a 1996 Toyota 4Runner. The Toyota went off the left shoulder and into the median, where it rolled. The vehicle came to rest on the eastbound right shoulder.

Storelli was not wearing his seatbelt. He was transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise by air ambulance. Both eastbound lanes of travel were blocked for approximately an hour, and the eastbound right lane was blocked for an additional half hour.

The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
