On Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at approximately 10:39 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle fatality crash on State Highway 25 and 1150 West, in Minidoka County, Idaho.

Alejandra Rangel Calderon, 26, of Burley, Idaho, was driving southbound on 1150 West in a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer. While turning onto Highway 25, Rangel Calderon was struck by Donna F. Wilkins, 85, of Paul, Idaho. Wilkins was driving a 2010 Buick Lucerne.

Rangel Calderon and her passenger's, three juveniles, were transported by ground ambulance to Cassia Regional Medical Center. Wilkins was transported by ground ambulance to Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert. Wilkins' passenger, Arland H. Wilkins, 95, of Paul, succumbed to his injuries on scene. Next of kin has been notified.

All occupants, except Rangel Calderon, were wearing seatbelts. Both lanes on Highway 25 were blocked for approximately four hours.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

The crash scene has been cleared and both lanes of Highway 25 have reopened to normal traffic. Details of the crash are still being investigated and will be released when they are available.

Idaho State Police and the Minidoka County Sheriff's Office are currently investigating a two vehicle crash on State Highway 25 near milepost 40, about 5 miles west of Paul. Both lanes of the highway are currently blocked.

More information will be released when it is available.
