On Sunday, August 13, 2017, at approximately 10:05 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash westbound I84 near milepost 34, in Nampa.

Mark J. Kennedy, 55, of Nampa, was driving a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am westbound on Karcher Road. Kennedy drove off the south shoulder, through a field, continuing through a fence and onto the westbound lanes of I84. Kennedy's vehicle struck a 2015 GMC pickup pulling a homemade trailer driven by William C. Randall, 27, of Caldwell, who was traveling westbound on I84.

Kennedy was transported by ground ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa. All occupants were wearing a seat belt.

The westbound lanes were blocked for approximately an hour and fifteen minutes.
