On August 9, 2017, at approximately 10:20 P.M., the Idaho State Police investigated a fatality crash on West Mountain Road near Little Lane, east of Donnelly.

Devin Hawkins, 36, of McCall, was northbound on West Mountain Road in a 2002 Porsche. Hawkins was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve. Hawkins left the right side of the road, overcorrected and traveled back across West Mountain Road. Hawkins then traveled off the left side of the road and struck a culvert. The vehicle went airborne and struck a small tree before coming to rest on its wheels. Hawkins was transported by ground ambulance to St Luke's McCall Medical Center.

Hawkins passengers, Kerri Hawkins, 37, of McCall, and a juvenile, succumbed to their injuries on location. All occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts. Next of kin has been notified.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police with assistance from the Valley County Sheriff's Office.
