On Sunday, August 20, 2017 at approximately 2:45 a.m., Idaho State Police responded to a single vehicle, fatality crash on State Highway 55 near milepost 76, in Boise County.

Dean Rogers, 47, of Horseshoe Bend, was traveling southbound on a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle, when he drove off the right shoulder and struck a telephone pole.

Rogers was not wearing a helmet and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Next of kin has been notified. The crash is under investigation.
