On July 30, 2017 at 7:03 pm a fatal crash occurred on Forest Service road 209 at milepost 2. A 2004 GMC Envoy driven by Duane A Zwiers (age 27 of Coeur d'Alene/seatbelt yes) failed to negotiate a left curve causing the vehicle to go over an approximate 20 ft embankment, striking a tree. Passenger Rebecca J Zwiers (age 23 of Coeur d'Alene /seatbelt yes) was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. Investigation continues by the Idaho State Police
