On Friday, September 9th, 2016, at approximately 9:49 p.m. the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on US26 at mile marker 350, just south of Ririe. Carl Zitlau, 75, of Rigby was westbound in a 1973 International farm truck. Heeon Lee, 29, of Sacramento, California was also westbound in a 2015 Toyota Camry. Lee crashed into the rear of Zitlau's slower moving truck. Lee and her passenger were transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts. Both lanes of travel were blocked for approximately one hour.
