On August 11, 2016, at approximately 5:22 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a four-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of US 93 at milepost 50, on the Perrine Bridge of Twin Falls.

Jorge L. Vazquez, 49, of Rupert, ID, was driving a 2003 GMC Yukon. Behind Vazquez was Joel Shigihara, 56, of Twin Falls, ID, driving a 2012 Subaru Forester. Behind Shigihara was Nancy Robles, 33, of Rupert, ID, driving a 2005 Lincoln Navigator. Behind Robles was Amanda A. Martinez, 26, of Burley, ID, driving a 2011 Ford F350 pickup. Vazquez, Shigihara, and Robles were stopped with the flow of traffic. Martinez failed to stop for the vehicles in front of her, and she struck Robles' vehicle. Each vehicle in turn then struck the vehicle in front of it.

All subjects were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collisions. A passenger in Vazquez's vehicle was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls, ID.

The southbound lanes of US 93 were partially blocked for approximately 30 minutes. The crash investigation is continuing.
