On Friday June 3,2016, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash northbound I15 at milepost 95, near Blackfoot. Luis Gonzalez-Delacruz, 31 of Santa Maria,CA, was driving a Chevy pickup. Gonzalez-Delacruz was attempting to pass a semi driven by William Morton, 62 of Idaho Falls, when he blew a tire. Gonzalez-Delacruz went off the left shoulder and struck the guardrail, his vehicle came back onto the roadway and struck the semi trailer, overturning in the lanes of travel. Gonzalez-Delacruz was transported to Bingham Memorial Medical Center by ground ambulance. All occupants involved were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.


Lanes of travel were blocked partially for approximately 1.5 hours. The crash is still under investigation at this time.
