Update - Injury Crash I-86 Near Rock Creek Road

**************Begin Update**************

On May 6, 2016, at approximately 4:03 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle injury crash eastbound on Interstate 86 at milepost 33, west of American Falls. Antonio Chapa Jr., age 40, of Kimberly, was driving eastbound in a 2004 Nissan Titan. Chapa lost control of his vehicle when a tire deflated. Chapa drove into the median, rolled his vehicle, and came to rest on the westbound right shoulder of Interstate 86. Chapa was ejected from the vehicle and transported by air ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. Chapa's two passengers were transported by ground ambulance to Harms Memorial Hospital in American Falls.

Chapa was not wearing his seatbelt. Chapa's two juvenile passengers were wearing their seatbelts. The left lane of westbound Interstate 86 was blocked for approximately three and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police and Power County Sheriff's Office are currently investigating a crash westbound on I-86, near Rock Creek Road. It is unknown at this time if there is any lane blockage.
