On Friday, May 27, 2016, at approximately 4:15 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a three-vehicle, injury crash on I-86 near milepost 50.5, between American Falls and Pocatello.

Justin Line, 18, of Pocatello, was driving eastbound in a 2007 Honda Civic. The Honda went into the median where he overcorrected and the vehicle rolled, coming to rest on its roof partly in the left lane of travel. Line was able to exit the vehicle.

Daniel Riley, 32, of Beaverton, Oregon, was driving eastbound in a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse. Riley parked on the right shoulder with flashers on and got out to assist Line.

Kaichiari Evans, 26, of Columbia, South Carolina, was driving eastbound in a 1999 Infiniti 4S I30. The Infiniti struck the Honda Civic, crossed the lanes and struck the unoccupied Chevrolet. The Honda came to rest in the median, the Infiniti and Chevrolet on the right shoulder.

Evans was transported to Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello. Evans and Line were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crashes.

The lanes were partly blocked for approximately 45 minutes while the tows removed the vehicles.

The crashes are under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
