Idaho State Brand Inspector Resigns After Criminal Charges Are Filed

MERIDIAN - The Idaho State Brand Inspector has accepted the resignation of brand inspector Justin Archer, 32 of Kimberly, following the filing of criminal charges by the Jerome County Sheriff's Office.

Archer has been charged with grand theft and conspiracy to commit grand theft, both felonies. In addition Georgina Zamora of Jerome has also been charged with grand theft and conspiracy to commit grand theft. Zamora is accused of writing a check from funds held from cattle sales by her employer to Archer. The two are then accused of splitting the proceeds from the check. The misappropriated check was discovered by Zamora's employer late last week and the case was referred to the Jerome County Sheriff's Office this morning. The check did not have any relation to Archer's official duties as a brand inspector.

As with any criminal case, Archer and Zamora are afforded all rights and privileges of any person charged with a crime in Idaho.

The Idaho State Brand Inspector expects all employees to obey all laws and maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity both on and off duty.

The Idaho State Inspector will continue to cooperate with the Jerome County Sheriff's Office and the Jerome County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in the ongoing criminal proceedings.
