After an exhaustive search, and with the assistance of numerous law enforcement agencies in Utah, next of kin have been notified. The victim was Kirk Winward, 45, of Salt Lake City, Utah.

On Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at approximate 10:22 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a Fatal incident on U.S. Highway 20 near mile post 312, in Bonneville County.

A passenger van was traveling east on U.S. Highway 20 in the left lane when a male passenger jumped from the vehicle into the lanes of traffic and was struck by multiple vehicles. The subject died at the scene; no one else was injured.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police. Next of kin has not yet been notified. More information will be relayed as it becomes available.
