On Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at approximately 6:19 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle, fatal crash southbound SH-45 at milepost 13, eleven miles south of Nampa.

Oscar Torres, 23, of Caldwell, was southbound on SH-45 in a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. There were three passengers in his vehicle: Aaron Torres-Cruz, 33; Jose Torres-Rodriguez, 18; and Jesus Duran, 22. The Trailblazer went off the right shoulder, overcorrected and rolled in the left shoulder. The vehicle came to rest on the left shoulder.

Torres, Torres-Cruz, and Torres-Rodriguez were not wearing their seatbelts. All three were ejected from the vehicle. Duran was wearing his seatbelt and remained inside the vehicle. Torres succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. Torres-Rodriguez was transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise by air ambulance. Both Duran and Torres-Cruz were transported to St. Alphonsus Medical Center Hospital in Nampa by ground ambulance. Torres-Cruz succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Next of kin has been notified.

SH-45 was blocked for approximately three hours.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
