On Saturday, September 5, 2015, at approximately 4:15 P.M., Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash on US93 near milepost 61, in Jerome County.

Jay Basen, 59, of Hailey, ID, was driving southbound on US93 in a 2011 Subaru Outback. Ryan Samples, 45, of Burley, ID, was driving northbound on US93 in a 2015 Ford F250 pickup hauling farm equipment. Basen drove into the northbound lanes colliding with the farm equipment.

Jay Basen and his passenger Gretchen Basen, 56, of Hailey, ID, were both transported by ground ambulance to St. Lukes Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls, ID.

All occupants involved were wearing a seat belt.

US93 has been blocked for approximately 3 hours. It will continue to be blocked as crews investigate the crash.
