Injury Crash Blocks US 93 -- Update

On Monday, September 7, 2015, at 6:50p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle crash on US93 near the Jerome County, Lincoln County Line. Jay Thornton, 88 from Wells, NV, was southbound on US 93 at the 68 mile marker, driving a 1990 Toyota motorhome. Erasmo Saldana, 33 from Bellevue, ID, was northbound on US 93, in a 2006 Ford Expedition. Thornton crossed the center line, striking the Ford Expedition, causing both vehicles to roll. The motorhome came to rest on its side in the northbound lane, and the Expedition came to rest on its side off the right shoulder. Thornton and Saldana were both air lifted to St Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise, ID. The passenger in the motorhome, 83 year old Charlene Thornton, also from Wells, NV, was taken by ground ambulance to St Lukes Magic Valley Regional in Twin Falls, ID. The passengers in the Expedition, 32 year old Patricia Saldana, from Bellevue, and two juveniles, were also transported by ground ambulance to St Lukes Magic Valley in Twin Falls. The occupants of the motorhome were wearing seat belts. It is unknown, at this time, if all occupants of the Expedition were wearing seat belts. The road was closed for approximately five hours. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police

Idaho State Police is currently investigating an injury crash on US93 near milepost 68, in Lincoln County. Both the northbound and southbound lanes of US93 are blocked at this time. More information will be released as it becomes available.
