On May 3, 2015, at 10:45 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle fatality crash on Interstate 86 at milepost 40, near American Falls.

Jashawa Cash, 30, and Julieann Baker, 45, both of Anaconda, Montana, were traveling eastbound in a 2005 Chevrolet Impala. The vehicle drifted off the left shoulder, rolled, and came to rest on its top in the median.

Baker was transported via ground ambulance to Power County Memorial Hospital in American Falls, and later transported via air ambulance to Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello. Cash succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

The westbound lane was partly blocked for an hour and fifteen minutes while crews worked to clear the scene.

Next of kin has been notified. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
