MERIDIAN - The Idaho State Police have arrested an Illinois man that is suspected of the armed robbery of at least four banks between November 19th and December 17th in the Chicago area.

On Monday, December 22 at about 11:30 p.m. an Idaho State Trooper stopped a black 2001 Ford Taurus displaying Illinois license plates, eastbound on I-84 near Nampa for excessive speed. During the stop the trooper discovered that the driver had an outstanding arrest warrant in connection with the four armed robberies in the south and southwest suburban areas of Chicago. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Kenneth A. Hunter, 20, of Olympia Fields, Illinois.

Hunter was arrested without incident and booked into the Canyon County Jail. He was also cited for speeding and careless driving.

On December 19th the Chicago office of the FBI issued a press release and a reward in hopes of identifying the suspect in the serial bank robberies.
