MERIDIAN - Idaho State Police are investigating reports of shots fired from one vehicle into another along I-84 this morning at about 9:45.

A 23 year-old Ontario man called 911 and reported that he was traveling eastbound on I-84 in a Nissan Altima and had made a lane change near milepost 26 when he heard what sounded like gun fire coming from a white Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution that was traveling behind him. The man reported that as he continued traveling east the driver of the Mitsubishi pulled alongside him, displayed a gun and fired multiple shots at his vehicle two more times. The man told troopers that the driver of the Mitsubishi exited I-84 at the Ten Mile Road and continued north on Ten Mile.

The reporting party was not injured and the shots fired at his vehicle missed the vehicle. He also reported that the Mitsubishi had Canyon County license plates.

Idaho State Police are continuing to investigate this incident. ISP has not received any other reports of shots fired along I-84 or in the Treasure Valley and asks anybody who may have witnessed this incident to call them at 208-846-7550.
