Final Update - Commercial Vehicle Crash I-84 near exit 27 in Caldwell

On Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a three vehicle injury crash on I-84 eastbound near milepost 26, in Caldwell.

Troy W. Walker, 44 of Ferdinand, ID, driving a 1997 Peterbilt semi pulling two trailers was traveling westbound on I-84 near exit 26, lost control of the vehicle. The second trailer hit the median and over turned spilling a large amount of grain on the roadway, blocking the westbound lanes and one eastbound lane.

Kyle B. Woodworth, 21 of Caldwell, driving a 1995 Honda Civic, traveling westbound on I-84, was struck by debris from the crash.

Mitchell G. Brown, 53 of Caldwell, driving a 1990 Volkswagen Cabriolet, traveling westbound on I-84, lost control of his vehicle while driving through the grain and struck the median barrier.

Brown was transported by ground ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Health Plaza, in Nampa. Walker, Woodworth and his passenger, Brittany N. Beame, 20 of Caldwell, were not transported.

The lanes were blocked for approximately four and a half hours while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.


All westbound and eastbound lanes are now open.


There is currently one westbound and one eastbound lane open. Traffic is no longer being diverted. Expect delays in the area as crews work to clean up the scene.


Idaho State Police is currently investigating a crash on I-84 near exit 27 in Caldwell.
Currently, the westbound lanes are blocked, and traffic is being diverted off I-84 at exit 27. The inside eastbound lane is also blocked.
