MERIDIAN - Idaho State Police detectives continue to investigate a shooting involving three officers from the Coeur d'Alene Police Department that occurred on Friday, June 6th at approximately 9:00 p.m. The man killed in the incident has been identified as Thomas L. White, 28 of Coeur d'Alene.

The events of Friday night began when officers from the Coeur d'Alene Police Department were dispatched to a domestic disturbance call on Dragon Fly Drive in Coeur d'Alene. Just prior to the officers' arrival, one of the subjects involved in the domestic dispute left the residence from where the call was placed, reportedly with a gun. The officers set up a perimeter of the area and began searching for White. Officers located White in the backyard of the house next to the address where the call originated. Upon contacting White shots were fired and White was fatally wounded. No one else was injured during the incident.

The names of the officers involved are not being released at this time pending further investigation. The Coeur d'Alene Police Department has placed the officers on administrative leave per agency policy.

An autopsy was performed on White by the Kootenai County Coroner's Office today.

Mr. White's family has requested that the media not contact them at this time.
