On Saturday June 29, 2014, at 5:15 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash on US Highway 95 at milepost 63.5.

Alexander Howell, 20, of Fruitland, was driving south in a 2006 Dodge pickup. Maureen Gibson was driving north in a 2008 Chevrolet Blazer. Howell's vehicle hit the right curb, overcorrected and crossed the center line. The pickup struck the rear panel of the blazer causing the blazer to overturn. The pickup continued across the roadway and came to rest in a field.

Gibson and her juvenile passenger were transported via ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus in Ontario, Oregon. Howell was transported by personal vehicle to St. Lukes Boise.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts. The inside lane of both north and southbound were blocked for about an hour and a half while crews worked to clear the scene.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police
