On May 24, 2013 at approximately 1:20 am, the Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle rollover crash southbound I-15 at milepost 125, 7 miles north of Idaho Falls. Jeffrey Daffern, 20 of Lake Point, Utah, was southbound on I-15 in a 2011 Ford Ranger pickup. Daffern fell asleep, and woke up when the vehicle hit the rumble strip. Daffern overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll. Sedley Parkinson, 52 of Lake Point, Utah, was in the front passenger seat. Sedley Parkinson was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected. Travis Parkinson, 19 of Lake Point, Utah was asleep in the bed of the pickup. Travis Parkinson was also ejected. Daffern was wearing his seatbelt and remained inside the vehicle. All three occupants were transported to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by ground ambulance.



One lane of the interstate was blocked for approximately two hours. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
