Victim in fatal crash has been correctly identified as Jose A. Ramirez Ortiz, 47 years old, of Mexico. Family notifications have been made.

On Friday, March 1, 2013, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle rollover crash on westbound Interstate 84 at milepost 172, near Twin Falls.

Rodolfo Del Fierro Herrera, 46 of Mexico, was traveling in the slow lane in a 1995 Ford Explorer when he attempted to change lanes. Upon noticing another vehicle traveling in the left lane, Herrera over-corrected and rolled his vehicle several times. Herrera was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. Herrera's passenger, Marco Navarro, 38 of Fresno, CA, was transported to St Lukes Magic Valley in Twin Falls, ID by ground ambulance. Only Navarro was wearing his seatbelt.

Both westbound lanes were blocked for approximately two hours. The investigation is ongoing.

At this time, the Idaho State Police are investigating a one vehicle roll over on Interstate 84 at the 172 mile marker. Traffic is being diverted off the interstate at the west bound 173 offramp. Please avoid this area if possible. Further information will be posted as it becomes available.
