***** UPDATE *****

On February 6, 2013 at approximately 8:06 a.m., The Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash on Interstate 84 at milepost 61, near Black's Creek rest area.

A Boise Fire engine had responded to a previous roll-over crash in the same area. Gwen V. Thompson, 50, of Hailey, Idaho, was traveling west in the right lane, approaching the crash, in a 2000 Subaru Impreza. Shawn R. Rebholz, 44, of Boise, Idaho, was traveling west in the left lane next to Thomspon, in a 2005 Chevy 2500 pickup. Due to the fog, there was low visibility and Thompson was unable to stop before crashing into the parked Boise Fire engine. After crashing into the fire engine, Thompson's vehicle struck Rebholz's vehicle.

Thompson was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Medical Center.

Lanes were blocked for approximately two hours.

***** END OF UPDATE *****

Idaho State Police is currently working multiple crashes on both the east and west sides of Interstate 84 between mileposts 55, just before the Gowen Exit and 61, just before the Blacks Creek Rest Areas. Drivers are requested to slow down or take an alternate route of travel.
