Update - ISP investigating crash with injuries on US 89 near Utah border.

Update:
The driver of the Oldsmobile Alero was Shauntel Nielson, age 17 of Paris Idaho. Her passenger was Katelin Marie Farmer, age 15, of Paris, Idaho. The driver of the GMC Yukon was James Allen, age 68, of W. Jordan, Utah. There were six passengers in his vehicle.

The Highway was partially blocked for approximately one hour. The Idaho State Police were assisted at the scene by the Bear Lake County Sheriff's Office and EMS.

The Idaho State Police is currently investigating a two vehicle injury crash on U.S. Highway 89 near the Utah border. The crash occurred at approximately 4:30pm near mile marker 1. The State Police report that a GMC Yukon was turning into a driveway when it was struck by an Oldsmobile Alero that was passing on the right. The occupants of the Oldsmobile were taken by ambulance to the Bear Lake Hospital. The occupants of the GMC were not injured.



This crash is still under investigation and more information will be available later this evening.
