On August 7, 2012 at approximately 2:45pm, the Idaho State Police investigated a multiple-fatality crash on State Highway 24. Rose Pope, 72 of Dietrich, was westbound on SH24 in a 1999 Ford F350 pulling a horse trailer. There were two horses in the trailer. Josh Burgoyne, 20 of the Rupert/Paul area, was eastbound on SH24 in a 2004 Ford F250 pulling an empty tanker . At approximately milepost 35, the two vehicles collided head-on. Both vehicles went off the southbound side of the road and became fully engulfed in flames. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Notifications have been made to the next of kin for Pope and Burgoyne. The horses died in the crash. The crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

The Idaho State Police is currently investigating a fatality crash involving two vehicles. Both drivers died as a result of injuries sustained from the crash. The investigation is continuing. Further information will be released when it becomes available.

At this time, Idaho State Police is investigating a multiple fatality crash on State Highway 24 at milepost 35, approximately 3 miles west of the Minidoka and Lincoln county line. Both eastbound and westbound lanes of travel are blocked at this time.
