On August 22, 2012, at approximately 8pm, the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle rollover. Dalton Nord, 16, of Idaho Falls, was traveling upriver toward North Fork in a 2003 Dodge pickup truck, when a distraction in the vehicle caused him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle left the road and went up an embankment where it hit a small tree causing the pickup to roll onto its right side. It then struck another small tree and came to rest on the passenger side of the vehicle. Nord and his passenger, Darrin Nord, 47, of Rigby, were transported by ground ambulance to Steele Memorial where they were treated and released with minor injuries. Dalton Nord was wearing a seatbelt; Darrin Nord was not wearing a seatbelt.

This crash is under investigation. Idaho State Police was assisted by Forest Service rangers and firefighters.
