On August 22, 2012, at approximately 4:40 pm, the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle rollover on State Highway 28 near milepost 128 near Baker, Idaho. Nichole Davis, 16, of Salmon, was traveling eastbound on SH28 in a 1993 Ford Ranger when a distraction in the car caused her to go off of the roadway. Davis overcorrected to the left and crossed the center line where she overcorrected back to the right, causing the vehicle to roll multiple times before coming to rest on the passenger side, facing east in the north roadside. Hannah Hudson, 14, from Salmon, was ejected from the vehicle. Davis, Hudson and another passenger, Hailey Davies, 13, from Salmon, were transported by ground ambulance to Steele Memorial in Salmon. A 4th passenger, Garrett Jarnagin, 15, of Salmon was transport by private vehicle to Steele Memorial. Hudson, Nichole Davis, and Hailey Davies were not wearing seatbelts; Garrett Jarnagin was wearing his seatbelt.

This crash is under investigation. The Idaho State Police were assisted at the scene by the Salmon Fire Department, Lemhi County Search & Rescue and the Salmon ambulance.
