On Saturday May 12, 2012, at approximately 7:06 am, the Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle injury rollover crash. Terry Smart, 55, of Bozeman, MT was northbound in a 2004 Honda CRV when he fell asleep causing the vehicle to drift off the left side of the roadway. Smart then overcorrected the vehicle causing it to roll. Smart and his 2 passengers were taken by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello with minor injuries. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.
Smart was cited for inattentive driving.
Idaho State Police was assisted by Bannock County Sheriff and Search and Rescue. The investigation is ongoing.
