Idaho State Police is currently investigating a two vehicle crash on SH50 near milepost 3. Northbound and southbound traffic is blocked at this time. More information will be released when available.
SH50 is now open for traffic.
On Saturday April 7, 2012, at approximately 9:24 pm, Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on State Highway 50 at milepost 3 at the 3800 East intersection. Leticia Zavala-Avila, 37, of Jerome, was northbound on 3800 East road in her grey Volkswagen Jetta, when for unknown reasons she drove through a stop sign. Leticia struck the side of a semi trailer driven by Vladimir Berdnik, 49, of Sacramento California, who was traveling eastbound on State Highway 50. Leticia was transported by ground ambulance to St Lukes Magic Valley Hospital in Twin falls with non life threatening injuries. Alcohol and weather are not factors in this crash. State Highway 50 was blocked for approximately two and a half hours.
This crash is still under investigation by Corporal Wendler.
