On April 29, 2012 at approximately 1:30 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 at milepost 42, near Ten Mile overpass.

A trooper responded to a call regarding a rubber storage tote in the road. The trooper was attempting to remove debris from the road when a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Phillip Harris, 36 of Meridian Idaho, slowed to avoid debris. His vehicle was rearended by a 2003 Saturn Ion driven by Dora McClain, 31 of Meridian. McClain was transported to St. Lukes Regional Medical Center in Meridian with non-life threatening injuries. Seatbelts were worn and weather was not a factor.

Three lanes were closed for approximately 45 minutes while emergency crews worked to clear the roadway.
The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police with assistance at the scene by Ada County Sheriff's Deputies and emergency personnel.
